Delete a Source Connection

Learn how to permanently remove a Source Connection, including what the optional toggles do and what data you can choose to keep.
Delete a Source Connection

Delete a Source Connection

Before you start

  • You need admin rights in your workspace

  • This action is permanent and cannot be undone

  • Deleting a source connection also permanently deletes all pipelines that use it as a source

  • Read the toggle options carefully before confirming

What always gets deleted

Regardless of toggle settings, deleting a Source Connection permanently removes:

  • The source connection and all its credentials and settings

  • All pipelines (Data Links) that use this connection as a source

  • All sync jobs, configurations, and pipeline audit logs

Two optional toggles - both ON by default

The delete modal gives you two toggles. Both are turned on by default → turn them off if you want to keep that data.

Toggle 1: Also delete all resulting data products

Default: ON

If enabled, all Data Products created from the affected pipelines are permanently deleted:

  • All shared access to those Data Products is immediately revoked

  • All dashboard widgets using those Data Products stop working

  • Consumers in other spaces lose access immediately

Turn OFF if you want to keep your Data Products and dashboard continuity → for example when replacing a connection with a new one or if you no longer use the data source and have changed to a new one and want to keep the data in the system. This case usually occurs when you have changed a software provider.

Toggle 2: Also delete ingested data from the warehouse

Default: ON

If enabled, all data ingested into the warehouse by the affected pipelines is permanently truncated.

Turn OFF if you want to preserve historical data for analysis after the live connection is gone.

How to delete a Source Connection

  1. Navigate to Data → Connections→ Source Connections

  2. Click the connection name to open its detail view

  3. Click Options and select Delete

  4. The Delete Source Connection modal appears. Review and set your two toggles

  5. Copy the connection name using the Copy button, paste it into the confirmation field "Type the connection name to confirm deletion"

  6. Click Delete permanently

Troubleshooting

The Delete option isn't visible under Options.

  • You don't have admin rights in this workspace. Contact your workspace admin.

"Name does not match" — the Delete permanently button stays inactive.

  • Use the Copy button next to the displayed name and paste it directly — the name must match exactly, including capitalisation and special characters.

I want to remove the connection but keep my historical data.

  • Turn both toggles OFF before confirming. The connection and pipelines are removed, but your Data Products and warehouse data stay intact.

My dashboard widgets show no data after deletion.

  • The Also delete all resulting data products toggle was ON the Data Products were removed. You'll need to reconnect a source and reconfigure the affected widgets.

Can I undo a deletion?

  • No. For data protection reasons, once you click Delete permanently, the connection and all selected data is immediately and irreversibly removed.

What happens to scheduled syncs?

  • All automated sync schedules for this connection are stopped and removed at the moment of deletion.

Will my team members be notified?

  • No automatic notification is sent. Let your team know before deleting a shared connection.
